The Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR) at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, has announced the 8th edition of its flagship Sports and Entertainment Law Mediation Competition. Known as one of India’s premier ADR events, SEMC 2026 offers law students a unique platform to test their mediation skills in the high-stakes industries of sports and showbiz.
1. Competition Format:
The Hybrid Setup
This year, the competition will be held in a hybrid format, allowing for accessibility in the early stages and high-intensity networking during the finals:

Online Rounds: Preliminary rounds will be conducted virtually.

Offline Rounds: Quarter-finals, Semi-finals, and Finals will be held at the RGNUL Campus in Patiala, Punjab.
2. Team Composition & Eligibility

Team Structure: Each team must consist of three members:

One Mediator.
-
One Client-Counsel Pair (Negotiating Team).

Eligibility: Open to all full-time 3-year and 5-year LLB students registered for the 2025-2026 academic year. (Note: LL.M. students are not eligible).
3. Registration Process
Universities must follow a two-step registration process:

Provisional Registration: Fill out the [Google Form] by the deadline.

Final Registration: Selected universities will receive a confirmation email with a payment link.

Fee: ₹12,000 per team (exclusive of GST). This fee is non-refundable.
