This role is designed as a fixed-term engagement of 18 months, offering junior legal professionals a unique opportunity to gain exposure to high-level corporate legal strategies within a Fortune 500 environment.
The Opportunity: Junior Lawyer Specialized Learning Program
The selected candidate will join the Legal and Integrity Department and participate in a specialized learning program. The role is focused on developing the skills necessary for a successful legal career in a global corporation, with a reporting line to the Regional Head of Legal, South Asia.
Key Responsibilities
As a Legal Counsel at Hitachi Energy, your core impact areas will include:
- Advisory & Counseling: Assisting regional and country legal heads in providing counsel to management on a broad spectrum of legal issues.
- Documentation: Conducting in-depth legal research and drafting critical legal documents.
- Contract Management: Supporting the review and negotiation of frame agreements, commercial contracts, and strategic partnerships.
- Compliance & Governance: Supporting the implementation of the company’s Code of Conduct and ensuring adherence to local regulations and Group directives.
- Dispute Management: Assisting in the management of ongoing litigation and communicating with external legal service providers.
Candidate Background & Requirements
Hitachi Energy is looking for agile, motivated individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Education: Graduate degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university.
- Experience: Approximately 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Licensing: Must be licensed to practice law in India.
- Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. A keen interest in technology and process improvement is highly valued.
