About the Job

SVNIT is inviting applications for the contractual position of Legal Officer. The engagement is for one year, extendable based on performance. Eligibility

Essential Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized Indian university.

Desirable Qualification

• Master’s Degree in Law (LLM) from a recognized Indian university.

Experience & Skills

• Strong understanding of legal drafting, compliance, and advisory work.
• Familiarity with court procedures and institutional legal matters.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

The Legal Officer will be responsible for handling all legal matters of the institute, including:

• Representing SVNIT in District, High, and Labour Courts.
• Assisting Standing Counsels in case preparation and hearings.
• Drafting replies to RTI queries and preparing charge sheets.
• Vetting MoUs and agreements.
• Preparing para-wise comments and documentation for legal replies.
• Ensuring compliance with institutional and statutory requirements.
• Performing any other legal duties assigned from time to time.

Duration

The appointment is contractual for one year, extendable based on performance and institutional needs.

Salary

The selected candidate will receive a consolidated remuneration of ₹45,000 per month, inclusive of all allowances.
