About the Job
Citi is currently hiring for the role of Legal Counsel 2 – Product (Officer). This intermediate-level position involves legal advisory, contract negotiation, and regulatory support for Citi’s global product offerings across Asia-Pacific (APAC) and other international regions. The role provides exposure to complex cross-border transactions and compliance frameworks, making it an excellent opportunity for early-career legal professionals.
Eligibility
Qualification:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from a recognized institution.
Experience:
- 0–3 years of relevant experience, preferably in financial services or corporate law.
- Strong understanding of banking and financial regulations.
- Familiarity with international laws and regulatory frameworks.
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and propose practical solutions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Strong organizational and relationship management abilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal guidance and advisory support to Citi’s business teams.
- Interpret and apply laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Review and analyze business proposals and documentation.
- Support contract negotiation and drafting for global product offerings.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external counsel across regions.
- Identify and manage legal, regulatory, and reputational risks.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable laws.
- Participate in strategic initiatives and internal legal projects.
